Injury More Serious Than We Know?

I'm sure all of you read J.J.'s e-mail about the awful accident that happened at the library last night.

What I overlooked originally is that she says tonight at 8:00 there will be a "gathering" on the Chapel Lawn.

To say the least, this definitely puts the incident in a new light.

his injury is WAY more serious than a broken arm or shoulder. he is still unconcious in the icu

actually, as of now he is conscious and stable.

If you don't know who this is, don't post about him. It's hurtful to his friends when random people spread rumors about him.

How is this spreading rumors? A member of our community was injured and people want to know what's going on.

9:31, if you're referring to commenters, that's fine

As to the posts themselves, there's nothing rumor-like about them, nothing's being spread. They're just commenting on the situation and the FACTS as we know them.

Theres been several posts about the incident, without any new information being sent by the administrators. I guarantee none of the all-freshmen bloggers on this site is friends with my friend. They shouldn't be speculating on his state without having any info.

That's the reason this blog exists, 11:11, to COMMENT on things happening, not to "cover" them.

Stop reading it if you don't like it.

so much for not helping spread rumors...
please, i don't think its appropriate for you to comment on this. we all read the email.

hi, sprink... i'm friends with the boy, and am asking you, out of respect for his family and friends, to please take down this speculative post. thank you! ~ a concerned senior

as a friend of the kid, i feel like this post should be taken down. rumors aren't going to help anything. everyone who really cares about this person is being kept in the loop. everyone else should just sit tight.

Exactly. If you don't know who he is then you don't need to know any details. While concern is certainly appreciated, it can easily lead to harmful conjecture. While I am not close friends with this student, I am have known him for several years, and am very close with some of his housemates. I can tell you that everyone who knows him is still really shook up. I understand that those who saw the accident are also disturbed, but they must understand the difference.
