BoneFish Checking In

Hey everyone!  I'm Bonefish and am new to the blog!  But excited to be involved!  And really excited for its relaunch!

So about me:  I'm a junior... I live in Cushing... I am not going abroad... and that's okay.  Those are the important things, right?

And yeah, I'll be writing about once a week.  And I'll probably just write about whatever's on my mind or what I feel is important for the moment.  Plus videos. Lots and lots of funny videos.

I remember when Blog9 first came out, all the bloggers made a haiku.  So to be true to the blog's roots, here it goes:

Bonefish Grill is good.
But hey, I've never been there.
Name stands for something!

Woot.

Facts About Jewett

It's snowing outside and there's hardly any time
for rumors and gossips when mid-terms are so near.

So how about some entertainment with facts about Jewett?

01. Milo Parker Jewett has the longest beard in the history of Vassar.
02. Matthew Vassar was sixty-three and retired when Milo Jewett first met him.
03. Vassar initially wanted to build a hospital -- it was Jewett that suggested a women's college.
04. Milo Jewett was a Dartmouth Graduate.
05. Jewett is the founder and first president of Judson College.
06. Jewett House is the second largest residence on campus after Main House (and main isn't really a residence hall....so...haha)
07. Jewett is the home to Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Edna St. Vincent Millay.
08. Jewett opened in 1907.
09. The dorm was originally called "North" because of its position in the quad.
10. After his resignation due to dispute with Matthew Vassar, Jewett went onto Wisconsin to become a successful peanut butter importer (how do you like that? Beer Brewer and Peanut butter importer).

Good luck with mid-terms everyone!

Preschoolers Unite!

Sorry to disappoint, but I have no good stories to share this morning. I am pretty sick, so last night I just hung out with some friends and turned in early. Instead of attempting to make that sound interesting, I thought I would share this list:

Top 10 ways that college is like preschool:
1) naptime makes a triumphant comeback
2) tickle fights are common
3) macaroni is a staple food (preferably of the e-z variety)
4) personal bubbles do not exist
5) neither does modesty (there are only so many times you can try to change in the closet)
6) puddle-jumping and snow-frolicking are legitimate sources of entertainment
7) personal grooming is far from a priority
8) you are almost expected to exist in squalor
9) any and all illnesses spread like wildfire
10) bathroom time is not necessarily private time

You know it’s true.

I hope you all had deliciously dramatic Friday nights, and I promise I’ll have stories next weekend!
Also, how gorgeous is Vassar in the snow?
