The List

miss abreves and i are back with this week's latest list: things that annoy hipsters. you know, the hipsters? who are so much better than you and dress better than you and you know, they don't care. secretly they know they're trying to be better than you but they'll never admit it. they're so nonchalant, you might not be able to tell if you're annoying them or not. try your best.

1. playing miley cyrus on the quad loudly
2. doing squats (their pants are too tight)
3. dont recycle
4. be carnivorous
5. tell them all the bad things that cigarette companies are doing
6. the beatles suck
7. be skinnier than them (which i will refer you to our previous list)
8. wear winter scarves more fashionably than hipster scarves
9. talk about made-up bands
10. wear sunglasses inside
11. get really really tan because pale is not the new tan
12. be better at super smash brothers... on n64
13. shave their bangs
14. buy expensive clothes and flaunt them like cheap ones
15. talk in abreves! (obvi)

don't annoy them too bad, their mafia will find you,

How Delicious Animals Are

let me count the ways...

here's something i don't understand: vegetarians. bacon is so good. hamburgers are so good. sausage is so good. steak is so good. fried chicken is so good. why would you ever give that up? to save the animals while taking precious jobs away from people in meat factories in an already declining economy? when did animal rights outweigh human rights? stop being selfish.

that cat over there on the quad looks so delicious,

Sandwich with extra mayo, bacon, roast beef
Ice cream but NOT fro-yo
Mac n Cheese
Meatloaf
Steak

Tacos
Nachos supreme
Whole milk
Milkshakes
Pork chops
Chocolate chocolate cake
Human flesh
Nuggets

Abbrevs and Hives

My friend from Fordham visited me this weekend and at first I was nervous about how she was going to deal with Vassar as opposed to a strict Jesuit school. Needless to say, there was quite a bit of culture shock. We went to the No Offense sketch comedy show and she could not believe some of the jokes and the amount of openness students were allowed to perform. I then showed her a typical Vassar Friday night and needless to say, she definitely wanted to stay for one more night. So she did. Although she passed out on my friend's bed at 1:30, I know she made as big of a mark on my friends as the campus did on her. They absolutely loved her and want her to come back almost as much as I do.

This weekend showed the truth behind the saying "Make new friends but keep the old." Hearing about what my friends did the next day as I drove her to the train station made her want to stay even longer. She picked up on the abbrevs (I'm gonna drink some Bs to get D and go to the M then catch some Zs) and appreciates a good hives story.

R the g just let the library.

Spring is here...

Baseball is back. And it's time for the Mets to redeem themselves. Seriously. Santana is definitely the start to the turn around for the team. I mean, the bottom of their lineup is a little shaky, but their pitching is stronger and Jose Reyes and David Wright are so good looking. Santana, Pedro, Maine, Perez and Pelfrey is the pitching rotation. The first three are gonna have amazing years and it's definitely going to be the pick up for the season. And they play where I played positions in softball (besides pitching). So all in all, I think this is definitely gonna be a baller year for the last year at Shea. I can't wait to get home and go to games with my dad and paint myself blue and orange.

Speaking of Britney...

She wants to have sex with the lead singer, Shawn Harris, of my favorite band, The Matches. Their new album drops Tuesday and you should definately definitely check it out. There's a video up for their first single "Wake the Sun" somewhere out there in cyberspace as well as all their old videos from their old albums (my favorite is "Salty Eyes"). I'm getting a Matches inspired tattoo sometime in the near future (probably the crow from Decomposer depending on the A Band in Hope artwork). Hope you guys are having a great break! I'm going to see "Funny Games" tonight and I am so excited.

every dawn gets its day

if i wasn't so exhausted, i would try to spark more chatter like with my last post. but i'm in my room that i haven't been in since january second listening to my favorite band the matches' new album "a band in hope" (say it out loud for the full effect) and i can't remember the last time i was this content. i've been happy the past months, but not necessarily content. watched by all the pictures of my walls, i'm letting a string of aborted ideas run through my mind, trying to decide what to write to the general vassar community. and i have nothing to say except that don't take any moment for granted because you don't know what pitch life is going to throw you next.

Coming Out

here's a shocker for vassar campus: i'm a conservative.

i mean mostly. like i believe in equal marriage rights for gays, but i believe in the death penalty. i watched 'dead man walking' monday night and i was not disturbed that he was killed. he raped and killed 2 people; he got what he freaking deserved. some people are uncomfortable with the execution/injection scene. i wasn't. the point of that is to make it look like he wasn't in pain and the way he destroyed those kids' and their loved ones' lives made me wish i could see his pain.

i also don't believe that the rich need to give to the poor. some people have worked hard for their money and they shouldnt need to flood it back to the government to help people on welfare. some of those people don't deserve to be on it.

government is the problem, not the answer. they need to get the hell out of our lives.

call me sadistic. call me cruel. but i'm voting for mccain in the election.

Fate is Inevitable

So I'm sitting here nervously anticipating for the three days that I've been preparing since September for. And I've realized how important people are to me in my life. Skeptics say that you can't really know a person in such a short time, but I know that I've found people who will be my friends for the rest of my life. It makes that whole fate thing seem pretty inevitable. Even though I'm a Catholic, I believe that God has a set out plan for us, to lead us in the right direction to make the right decisions and to meet the right people. And with everything going right, how can I be wrong? We'll see after this weekend.

Til next time,
