I'm sitting here in front of my window with my fan on.
My fan is blowing cigarette smoke directly into my face because of the people sitting on the steps of Joss polluting the airspace.
Cigarette smoke gives me migraines.
I HATE SMOKERS SO MUCH. Blacken your own lungs all you want, but leave me out of it. I seriously don't get why people our age smoke. We all know the MANY health risks perfectly well, and I can't be the only person with multiple relatives having suffered lung cancer. Seriously, is it worth it to look "cool" (which, for the record, you don't) or be skinny?
gross.

wow, i sound like an advertisement for dare. whatever. it's still gross.
people like you annoy the shit out of me. close your damn window, you don't own the fucking dorm.
isn't there a rule about smoking 50 ft away from the dorm anyway? why shouldn't she be allowed to have fresh air in her room?
I also don't understand how people can smoke, even though they know the risks. I understand that the addiction is a major part of why people continue to smoke, but that doesn't resolve the psychological aspects that should be able to curb people's smoking.

8:16, you don't own the dorm either. She shouldn't have to close her window. If you want to smoke, go out to a field somewhere away from civilization and let the rest of us live and breathe in peace.
saying you hate smokers is a pretty strong way to put how you feel. hopefully you don't hate a person just because they smoke, just the act itself.
After watching my grandfather slowly die of emphysema and congestive heart failure, and now watching my dad's health deteriorate at only 48 years old I really just don't get it.
Especially here, where we all should be intelligent human beings, at least intelligent enough to read and appreciate the Surgeon General's warnings.
Here's a warning to all you smokers. If you're smoking within 50 ft. of a building and get written up, they'll get you for both smoking within 50 ft. and having an open flame within 50 ft. of the building. If what you're smoking is weed, you get stuck with some more bullshit. So, if you smoke around a building, don't do it and go somewhere else (for your own sake). Trust me, I'm speaking from experience here.
maybe you should try asking them to move. politely. they probably don't know it's getting in your face.
or, you know, just bitch about it on your blog. works too.
10:43, don't worry, it's just me being frustrated. i have friends who smoke and i still love them dearly... i just can't for the life of me understand their behavior.
littleone!
That happens to me too because I live basically over the stoop. And then I close the window and the smoke basically stays in my room and it is difficult to air out. There are rules about smoking but not many people follow them. I suggest that the next time it happens, either ask them to do it somewhere else (which yes, I know its awkward) or turn your fan around so it blows the smoke out of the window instead of letting it come in, if that is an option. Smoking IS dangerous and bad for you and I have also seen too many die from its effects. I don't hat smokers, I just wish they didn't smoke so that they wouldn't have to go through that agony and so that I had the pleasure of their company for at least a little while longer. I hope that people who say they'll quit, quit. And those who have yet to start, never start at all.
Good luck to everyone during finals. I know it's stressful, but maybe you can find alternative ways to relieve stress.

Real Camels Don't Smoke.
I completely agree with you on this, Littleone. I think smoking is one of the most selfish things you can do, in terms of the strangers whose faces you blow smoke in, and the people who love you who you hurt if you end up getting lung cancer and dying decades before your time.
smoking makes you AGE FASTER AND WORSE. it's true. that's why i'm always looking fucking rejuvinated, with my youthful glow and shit. HOLLA!!!
who are you to judge other peoples actions? I am pretty sure everyone here is aware of the health concequences, and it's their business if they want to ruin their health. As far as to someone smoking near your window, just politely ask them to move away, just because you smoke doesn't mean you're an asshole.
