It's snowing outside and there's hardly any timefor rumors and gossips when mid-terms are so near.
So how about some entertainment with facts about Jewett?
01. Milo Parker Jewett has the longest beard in the history of Vassar.
02. Matthew Vassar was sixty-three and retired when Milo Jewett first met him.
03. Vassar initially wanted to build a hospital -- it was Jewett that suggested a women's college.
04. Milo Jewett was a Dartmouth Graduate.
05. Jewett is the founder and first president of Judson College.
06. Jewett House is the second largest residence on campus after Main House (and main isn't really a residence hall....so...haha)
07. Jewett is the home to Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Edna St. Vincent Millay.
08. Jewett opened in 1907.
09. The dorm was originally called "North" because of its position in the quad.
10. After his resignation due to dispute with Matthew Vassar, Jewett went onto Wisconsin to become a successful peanut butter importer (how do you like that? Beer Brewer and Peanut butter importer).

umm actually Main House is a residence hall. its just way cool and happens to have tons of other stuff too. and of course its the biggest. its the best.

according to the ResLife website, each dorm's capacity is:
1. Main - 351
2. Josselyn - 237
3. Cushing - 202
4. Raymond - 200
5. Jewett - 195
6. Davison - 191
7. Lathrop - 180
8. Noyes - 178
9. Strong - 162
So Jewett's the fifth largest. Right in the middle!

6.18 -- I hope you didn't take my comment offensively, and I am glad you fought back! just wanted to make sure that we at Vassar are all full of dorm spirit (oops I meant house spirit....cause Res Life prefer that)
6.29 -- when I called Jewett 2nd largest dorm, I wasn't referring it in terms of capacity but size and total area that it takes up. And this is quoted from this site:
