Just a moment ago, I asked roommate B if he could take the pizza box from the pizza which he and roommate A went in on and then devoured last night to the garbage. Which is like literally probably 20 feet from our room.
His response: "WHHHHYYYYY? I mean, I had to ORDER it!"
God forbid he should have to walk 20 feet to throw out a PIZZA BOX.
This pizza box was on the floor between my bed and the door, being kicked around and getting grease everywhere.
My response: SERIOUSLY?

at that point you should've just picked up the box and smacked him/her upside the head.
Uh, does it really matter? You could have just thrown it away yourself.
i commented on this blog earlier than the two comments above me...and you didnt post them. if youre going to run a blog where you pick and choose who's comments to post then people are going to stop reading!
Dear 3:02:
According to our inbox, we have not received any comments prior to the two (12:21 and 2:17) that have been posted already.
We do not "pick and choose" which comments are posted, except when it comes to profanity. We believe that this is a public forum, and we respect other's opinions, but when they become so deeply critical that profanity is used, we refuse to post it.
One comment was denied on this post, and that was because it was intensely profane.
We would be happy to publish your comment if you would submit it again. Thank you.
you have rejected 3 of my comments so far. none of them had any profanity. they were just critical.
Hey 5:48:
We're sorry that your comments were not posted in a timely fashion (or at all).
We're still getting a lot of kinks worked out. Putting a Blog together is harder than it looks, especially with multiple people running it!
Keep commenting, though!
We love readers' opinions, and we'd hate to lose you over such a small thing as that...
Almost reminds me of how some people get turned off by the Catholic church just because of a single priest.... But I digress....
Thanks for reading!
=)
yeah this blog has a slow repsonse time to putting up any comments that are 'critical' or talk about how mads is better (which is is).
they are just desperate to keep their readers so they post responses like 3:08's and 6:14
hey guys did you ever stop to think that this blog might not be trying to be "better" than mads??
the only way it could possibly try to compete is if it was covering the same sort of things that mads is....
so far, i havent personally seen anything like that on this blog
only thing ive been seeing are a few posts about things outside vassar, and a lot of posts about personal life at vassar......
maybe the reason this blog isnt posting comments about mads is because they dont want to be compared with mads; it's really like comparing apples to oranges
thanks, 7:16... that's part of it...
also, blog9 has left several comments on mads' pieces (notably the "what we're listening to" MGMT post) because several of us LOVE MGMT, only to find out that mads rejected our comment
i think that it would be foolish to think that blog9 is the only one that's discriminatory in terms of blog comments
my god you people lead such INTERESTING lives!
I am such so FASCINATED by your tales of greasy pizza boxes and random people you happen to meet...
God forbid there be some interesting Gossip to post so that I didn't have to search for ten minutes between the posts to find something actually worth reading...
keep up the good work!
Ahem.
You guys should be way more discriminating concerning the subject matter of your posts. No one- and I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say no one- cares about your pizza box issues.
um. first, this blog DOES cover the same stuff mads does, both inside and outside of vassar.
second, this blog HAS posted comments about mads. two of them. they were up for a few days.
everyone. this blog isnt made to be about gossip... its about everyday life. and things like getting annoyed with roomies over pizzas boxes are a part of it. sometimes life is full of gossip and sometimes it isnt. if thats all you are here for i really think you are looking in the wrong place.
7:57, shall I refresh your memory that the reason those posts about mads were up was because mads was snubbing this blog in the first place?
everyone's a critic!
Catty much? I'd rather read about Sprinkles obnoxious roomie than Gay-Bashing anonymous comments on Mads. I'm not sure where Blog9 claimed to be a gossip site but at least the facts are generally strait and a much better reflection of overall campus life instead of just Jewit....
gay-bashing anonymous comments?
great example of this:
http://madsvassar.blogspot.com/2007/11/empty-quad.html
this happened back in november... caused quite an uproar....
yeah, it did cause an uproar. for no reason. do you see what the original post was? it wasn't homophobic at all, and many of the comments were by members of Act Out who said they agreed that the structure was an eyesore.
yes, some of the comments were homophobic, but the mads writers are not.
if i'm not mistaken, it was shortly after that that mads started moderating comments.
but this isn't about mads. it's about blog9. that tiny mads post got 50 comments three months ago. why bring it back up on a different blog?
If you don't like what's being written on this blog, why are you reading it? Am I correct in thinking no one is forcing you to? I think arguing with a room mate about a pizza box is a funny clip from everyday college life.
Really, if you find this so dreadfully boring, why do you continue to read it? If you're looking for something to occupy your time procrastinating, there are PLENTY of other outlets, I mean, it is the internet.
These people here at Blog9 are doing a great job at putting up interesting and well-written blogs. I'll be honest, I don't care about video games. So I don't read those posts and I don't tell the writer how boring their life is. Because most other people don't care about classical music in the way that I do. It's called being an INDIVIDUAL. That's what this blog is about, showing personal interests at Vassar. If you don't like it, you don't have to read it and you certainly don't have to criticize.
10:15, if i didnt know better, id say you were a mads writer, or a close friend of a mads writer
1. 6:31 brought up mads
2. 8:07 and 9:51 are not accusing mads of homophobia.... in fact, 8:07's comment seems to be completely unrelated, because reading that on mads would be reading the comments, not the posts....
i guess the moral of the story is no matter what someone posts, there are going to be positive people and negative people
unfortunately for both mads and blog9, negative people tend to post more often than positive people....
