Bad News, Athletes

According to a Misc web update:

"...the Prentiss Field renovations will not likely be completed for the 2008 spring season.

The complex, which will consist of a lighted turf field with an eight-lane track, a press box, two grass fields (one for field hockey and the other to be shared by soccer and lacrosse), a baseball diamond and a baseball practice field, was originally slated to be ready by Sept. 1, 2007."

Re: 6:58

Does that matter? At all?

12:10, i think 6:58 is actually justified in saying that because originally, the post was headed by "BLOG9 EXCLUSIVE", which according to 6:58 isn't true.

so 6:58 had a valid point... thanks!

know what we really need? a new pool...

11:46-maybe some of us want to play sports AND get a good education but aren't ready for a division 1 commitment at princeton or yale. so we came here to play hard and work hard. a lot of the athletic equipment and fields are crap so they need to be redone more than other things.

11:46 - athletes make up 20% of vassar's student body. and vassar athletics shows the world that vassar isnt only a liberal arts college where you can major in those typical liberal arts subjects. many students major in the sciences, and many students play sports. by making such a stupid comment that athletes shouldnt come here, youre playing right into the stereotypes that vassar is known for. students here like to work hard and play hard, and i think the athletes DO deserve a nice place to do so.
