How Delicious Animals Are

let me count the ways...

here's something i don't understand: vegetarians. bacon is so good. hamburgers are so good. sausage is so good. steak is so good. fried chicken is so good. why would you ever give that up? to save the animals while taking precious jobs away from people in meat factories in an already declining economy? when did animal rights outweigh human rights? stop being selfish.

that cat over there on the quad looks so delicious,

Wow, how incredibly offensive of you.

Anonymous said...

ok, its gotten to the point where you just say stupid shit in order to get people angry.

Which is so incredibly immature.

what an insightful comment!

this is a terrible blog.

just because one person on here says something offensive doesn't mean you should ditch the whole blog....

the point of blog9 is to provide a ton of different viewpoints on issues that effect people's lives. if you want everyone to agree with your lifestyle, you're in the wrong place.

keep it up, blog9!!

dear viva,
you previously said something to the effect that even though you are "rich white girl" (me too, not going to lie) you "at least are accepting of other people's views". Please, try to be consistent.
thanks.

Could you actually give some thought when you form an argument, vivalawhitegirl? You are way too flippant. Could you at least argue your points with some degree of seriousness so that we can actually understand your point of view.
You pretty much came across as the following: "lolz BEEF!!! <3 Deliciuz :D VEGGIES ARE TEH NOOB SUCK! LOLZ!!!11"
It's unfortunate to think that someone can only express their opinion in such a way that it irritates other people. It's easy to understand why some people get so offended by your posts because your tone is extremely flippant, and your ideas and not thought out to the degree they should be.

Alright, I agree with you in that I also could NEVER become a vegetarian. Animals are delicious! The whole job thing, though...kind of nonsensical. I don't really care enough about that aspect of having meat available. It's seemingly trivial.

I understand that you're concerned over people's jobs in the meat industry. It's true that people make a "living" cutting up and killing animals. However, have you thought about little those people are paid to chop up meat? And what about when they're in an accident. Human blood looks a lot like animal blood to me and no one on the conveyor belt of flesh cares that you nicked your finger. Slaughterhouses are disgusting and it's horrible that people have to work there. There is a solution:

Free range farming requires a lot more labor, the kind of labor that could come from meat factories and then some to stem the rise in unemployment. Instead of killing animals, they would do work feeding and taking care of them for a good amount of time before those animals were killed. And if you're concerned about the economy, free range costs more so the workers receive higher wages. People earn more, spend more, other people pay more for the meat, there's more money in the money supply, interest rates lower, and this boosts the economy. It would be really helpful in, say, a recession.

Also if you're concerned about people's rights, we all know there are hungry people in the world. And a third of the grain we produce in this country goes to feeding the obscene amount of livestock. And there is a lot of waste in the meat industry (inferior meats, "downers"). All that grain could feed people.

Do some research.. you'll be surprised at how many solutions are out there.
