My Two Cents

Since John Edwards backed out of the presidential race, I've been supporting Hilary Clinton. However, I don't bash Obama like so many Obama supporters do to Clinton. I like Obama as well, and I will vote for either of them come the November election. What I don't understand is how people can support Obama so vigorously, yet hate Clinton. To me, they seem to have very similar policies, the major difference being how they come across to the public.

It seems to me that Obama has tried to cater to the youth of the US. It seems like he has tried to appeal to us, and that he's certainly done his job considering his vast support. His slogan is "CHANGE" appeal to us, which makes sense as we generally have greater optimistic views on the future. I take issue with this slogan only in that it feels like he's just using it to get the youth vote, and that if he takes office he won't pull through. Charisma alone does not make a president.
Again, I'll vote for him if he gets the nomination, I just hope that those who support him do so because they actually think about what he offers aside from his charisma and slogan.

I don't think running on a platform of change means he's pandering to the youth vote at all. The president's approval ratings are at historic lows and pretty much everyone wants change. The logic doesn't line up.

More what I would take issue with is the fact that in such a long, grueling race, he has been acting increasingly like a the traditional politician he claims not to be. We've seen that neither Barack nor Hillary are above old-fashioned mud-slinging. They are beating up the democratic party and setting McCain up for victory. If Hillary dropped out now, as she shuold, the bleeding could be stopped.

i support obama. but i also want him to win today just to have a democratic nominee. the longer they have to fight each other, the more of an advantage mccain has. i'd be ok if hilary won, but, as she's behind right now, i'm rooting for obama because this just needs to get decided. but yeah, this hilary bashing is kind of absurd.

I'm not bashing hillary clinton but i would never vote for her. Her tactics are just pathetic and her true colors are shining through. Instead of talking about her plans for the future, she spends much of her time bashing Obama... how classy.

i think the problem with clinton as a candidate in the november election is that she's really polarizing - people either love her or hate her. i'm not saying this is because she's a bad person, but there's just a negative image that seems to come across to the public. i support obama because i think he'd do a better job of unifying the democratic party and keeping votes that might otherwise get thrown away - a lot of obama voters are threatening to vote green or mccain if hilary gets the nomination.

also, i'm not sure how true this is, but i've heard some noise about obama trying to get rid of corruption in washington. if so, it's just another good reason to vote obama.
